Leading

What is Leadership?

Leadership is a “process whereby an individual influences a group of individuals to achieve a common goal” (Northouse 2007).  Effective leadership guides and motivates “by unleashing the power and potential of people and organizations for the greater good” (Blanchard 2012).

“Leadership is intentional influence.”— Michael McKinney

Leadership vs. Management

“Lead and inspire people. Don’t try to manage and manipulate people. Inventories can be managed but people must be lead.”— Ross Perot
